ACSH develops collaborative initiatives and partnership

On November 29-30, during the capacity building workshop in New York, jointly organized by the Astana Civil Service Hub (ACSH) and the UN International Civil Service Commission (ICSC), Mr. Alikhan Baimenov, Chairman of the ACSH Steering Committee, conducted several bilateral meetings. A notable and cordial discussion on  took place with UN Under-Secretary-Genaral and UNDP Associate Administrator Mr. Haoliang Xu. During the meeting the parties exchanged of opinions and shared goals.

Also, within the workshop, ACSH representatives and participating heads and representatives of the authorized state bodies in civil service affairs from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan had a productive meeting with the UN Assisstant Secreatary-General, UNDP Assisstant Administrator and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States Ms. Ivana Živković. Participants exchanged their insights on the potential of joint projects.

For discussions on collaborative projects and initiatives with the Hub Mr. Baimenov individually met with Ms. Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the UN South-South Office, Ms. Raquel Lagunas, UNDP Global Director of Gender Equality, Ms. Sarah Lister, Head of Governance of the Bureau of Policy and Programme Support, Ms. Sanna Tasala, Manager of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Joint Programme, and representatives of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA).

 

Another important meeting for the expansion of the Hub’s partnership network was the meeting with the HR, International Affairs, and Attorney General Departments in the Utah Governor’s Office. The relevant long-term and new partners have been invited to the ACSH side events within the CEPA 2024 and Annual Conference of the American Society for Public Administration, both to be held in April next year.
