Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana and Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The official meeting of Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana Alikhan Baimenov took place in Astana.

During the meeting there the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana was signed, under which the parties will take part in educational and research activities in the field of project management, improving the quality of public services, human resource management and other promising areas.

Noting the importance of bilateral cooperation, Alikhan Baimenov expressed confidence that the memorandum will contribute to efforts of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan on transformation and improvement of personnel potential.

Zhenis Kassymbek in turn, noted that the President of  Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev always focuses on the issues of improvement of human capital. The Minister also stressed the relevance of bilateral cooperation in order to improve the professionalism of the department.

The Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana was established on the initiative of the Government of Kazakhstan and UNDP in 2013 during the Inaugural Conference with the participation of representatives of 25 countries and 5 international organizations. The mission of the Hub is to promote the development of effective civil service systems in the region. Currently Hub involves 34 countries and 5 international organizations.
